‘The Fire Stairs’ was recorded at Crouch Hill Studios in 2007, with genius Scandiwegian producer and keyboard player Thomas Johansen in charge. The album features drums from Dave Barbarossa (Adam and the Ants, Bow Wow Wow, Republica), pedal and lap steel from the Deadstring Brothers’ Spencer Cullum, harp from Camilla Pay (Spiritualized, The Divine Comedy, Jay-Z) and electric guitar from longtime Morrissey cohort Boz Boorer.
